Caring for the Roofs Over Your Congregation

We repair and replace roofs on sanctuaries, steeples, fellowship halls and schools, working respectfully around services and events.

Church Roofing by RemodelPro

Church buildings are some of the most challenging and rewarding roofs we work on. Many combine a steep sanctuary roof, a bell tower or steeple, decorative copper and a flat roof over a later addition, all on the same campus. Some still wear their original slate.

Congregations also have unique needs. Budgets are often set by committees and funded through campaigns, schedules revolve around weekly services, weddings and funerals, and the building itself may carry deep meaning for the community. We plan our work with all of that in mind.

Our approach is to give your building committee a clear, honest assessment and a prioritized plan. If urgent repairs can buy time while you raise funds for larger work, we will say so.

How we serve houses of worship

Schedules around worship

We plan noisy work and site access around services, holidays, weddings and funerals.

Slate and historic materials

We repair and restore slate and copper rather than replacing it when the stone still has life.

Steeples and towers

Steep, tall and complex roof areas handled with proper safety planning and equipment.

Flat roofs on additions

TPO, EPDM or modified bitumen for fellowship halls, offices and education wings.

Committee-ready proposals

Photo reports and prioritized scopes that are easy to present to boards and congregations.

Phased projects

Large projects broken into stages to match fundraising and budget cycles.

Signs your church roof needs attention

  • Water stains on sanctuary ceilings or plaster walls
  • Slipped or missing slates on the ground after storms
  • Green streaks or gaps along copper valleys
  • Leaks around steeples, bell towers or stained glass
  • Ponding water on flat roofs over additions
  • Overflowing or detached gutters and downspouts

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you work around our service schedule?
Yes. We plan the schedule with your staff ahead of time and avoid noisy or disruptive work during services and special events. Most loud work can be done on weekdays.
Should we repair or replace our slate roof?
Many church slate roofs have decades of life left in the stone even when flashing and fasteners are failing. We evaluate the slate itself before recommending anything, and repair is often the better value.
Can a large project be split into phases?
Yes. We frequently phase church projects by building section so the most urgent areas are addressed first and the rest can follow as funds are raised.
Will you present to our building committee?
We are glad to meet with your committee, walk through our findings and answer questions so everyone has the information they need to make a decision.
Do you handle gutters and downspouts too?
Yes. Proper drainage is essential on large church roofs, and we can repair or replace gutters, including copper systems, as part of the project.
